Ice

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

The number one tool in the ongoing war on teething is ice. Applied appropriately, the insurgent teeth are left powerless in their attempt to stir up crankyness in Jack. In fact, if ice were Mr T. then ice would say “I pity the fool that tries to make Jack cranky!

Anyway, here is Jack enjoying and spitting out some ice.

The boy is learning how to sit up.

And while thats neat and all, for me, I’m still caught up in being happy that he figured out how to sit up, but not relishing that he’s actually doing it. I guess I’m working on forgetting the 2 pound 3 ouncer and letting my eyes adjust to the 23 pounder, you know? Like right now, as I type this, he’s laying on his back with his feet in his hands, babbling away and smiling. It just occurred to me that maybe he’s just biding his time, preparing to kick all our asses with his pure awesomeness.

CIO night 3

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

Mom 1. Baby 1.

The kid broke me. Or, to be more accurate, I broke down (much to the chagrin of my cold hearted husband). After 1 hour and 20 minutes of shrieking I picked Jack up and he promptly fell asleep in my arms.

I am not sure who was crying more. Me, or Jack.

UPDATE –

I’m not sure that everyone knows that CIO stands for Cry it Out.
