Turtle

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

For his first Halloween Jack was a pumpkin. This year, he demanded to be a turtle. Ok, thats not exactly true… I think his mother bought this turtle costume in July. I swear. J-U-L-Y.

Totally Lame.

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

I know, I know. We’re totally lame. No posts since like for-EVAH! I’m sorry, new jobs and literally chasing a crawling boy around the room have exhausted us. But, with Halloween and the rest of the year-end holidays rapidly approaching, we’re getting it back together and are planning a barrage of movie and picture posting awesomeness. ‘Till then, these pictures from the swings will have to tide you over.

Who is that handsome devil?

Jack has located his penis.

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

I mean, its not like he lost it, or it fell off or anything, he had just never really noticed it before a few days ago. Now, however, its a different story.

In for a quick diaper change? Lets make sure that its still there!

Bath time? Full inspection!

You get the idea. Now, I’m imagining a future where Jack is very very unhappy about this post. But what can I do? I mean, finding ones penis is a major developmental step. I feel obligated to write about it. Plus, its possible that this will be the first (of many, I’m sure) times when I will embarrass my son. Ahh fatherhood!

RIP Hollis

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

Today, we put our dog Hollis to sleep.

Hollis was my first dog ever, and while Sarah had innumerable animals in her home growing up, Hollis was my first. We had him for 12 years, and I feel like we gave him good life. We rescued him from the streets of Queens and whisked him away to the luxury of TriBeCa, Chelsea and eventually the Upper West Side. He got to roam in Connecticut where he enjoyed nothing more than sneaking off into the woods to find dead things to roll around in. We took him to Maine, Washington D.C. and pretty much everywhere else we went for the past 12 years.

He was a world class snuggler, and even when he drove me apeshit I still loved him.

He was my dog. My first dog, and I’m crying as I type this because I can’t believe he’s gone.
