CIO, eh?

We did the Ferber method. Basically leaving them for five minutes, then pick them up. Then leave them for ten. Pick them up. Then leave them for fifteen. Pick them up, etc. It worked well for us and took about two weeks. Alice was a wreck. I was more.... sanguine and took to the bottle for comfort. Not the baby's, ut the baby daddy's bottle.

Don't worry. You'll do fine and so will he.

Hang in there!

I used to pour myself a glass of wine (or a shot of whiskey, once. Okay, twice.) and go sit on my stoop. A practice I picked up when Henry was just weeks old and I couldn't take the crying at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 in the morning. Once, I made myself a burrito and opened a beer and went for a walk. It was sunrise.
