The worst idea ever

Well, maybe not EVER, but driving to DC last friday, really not up there on the bright things we have done together as a family. I describe the scenery and the cars littering the side of the NJ turnpike as “post-apocalyptic…”

After it took us 6 hours to reach the Delaware Memorial Bridge (a trip that normally takes 2 hours) we decided to call it and head to Grammie Hope’s in Philadelphia. Needless to say she was was more than happy to receive a surprise visit from her most favorite grandson. Refreshed on Saturday morning we continued on to DC to see Grandpa Peter and Gran-E and Jack’s other Great Grandfather, Herb. Actually, we really headed to DC to dump the kid with the grandparents so we could go hang out with Sam, Elsa, Lisa & JD. We also were going to DC to take Jack to the zoo for the first time, an experience he so thoroughly enjoyed that he slept until we got to the small primate house.

Jack has a new trick that he developed on our harrowing drive, he’s training for the infant division of the IFOCE. The amount of food this kid is putting away is kind of awe inspiring.

I suspect it’s another growth spurt, yep, that’s right, the 3 month 22 day growth spurt - does that even exist?
