Meme - Me

We’ve been tagged for a meme. And not just any meme. Noooo. It’s a Haiku Meme. Count the syllables. Please? I am not a poet.

Thanks Leah!

Halo

The best thing ever

Slumber soundly in repose

Sleep well little man

Hollis

Strong scent of popcorn

Punitive peeing at noon

You are my first son

Since by definition I have to pass the meme on, I tag Moovon and CRTDOT. Maybe this will shame Charles into actually updating his blog…

Things Jack eats:

Yams

Apples

Peas

Pears

Things Jack has shown significant interest in:

Grilled cheese sandwiches

Sushi

Miller Lite Beer (don’t ask)

Bacon

Things Jack has actively lunged for in the past 24 hours:

The bottle of formula momma was waving around willy-nilly instead of putting into his mouth.

Seriously? The child is 17+ pounds. The 16 month old down the hall weighs 19 pounds. Space Babies in Outer Space ™ now requires two hands…

The worst idea ever

Well, maybe not EVER, but driving to DC last friday, really not up there on the bright things we have done together as a family. I describe the scenery and the cars littering the side of the NJ turnpike as “post-apocalyptic…”

After it took us 6 hours to reach the Delaware Memorial Bridge (a trip that normally takes 2 hours) we decided to call it and head to Grammie Hope’s in Philadelphia. Needless to say she was was more than happy to receive a surprise visit from her most favorite grandson. Refreshed on Saturday morning we continued on to DC to see Grandpa Peter and Gran-E and Jack’s other Great Grandfather, Herb. Actually, we really headed to DC to dump the kid with the grandparents so we could go hang out with Sam, Elsa, Lisa & JD. We also were going to DC to take Jack to the zoo for the first time, an experience he so thoroughly enjoyed that he slept until we got to the small primate house.

Jack has a new trick that he developed on our harrowing drive, he’s training for the infant division of the IFOCE. The amount of food this kid is putting away is kind of awe inspiring.

I suspect it’s another growth spurt, yep, that’s right, the 3 month 22 day growth spurt - does that even exist?
