Well the camera I’ve been lusting after arrived yesterday by personal “Grandpa Ray” messenger. Its pretty cool. I was over at the hospital after work today ’cause I found out that if I wear a mask and gloves then I can get in to the NICU. So I’ve got a few pics for you all.
Jack had a better day today. He is down to 50% oxygen and 16 on the ventilator, so thats good news. They are also feeding him 10cc’s of milk, but he’s back on the TPN, which means he has an IV again. When we saw him he wasn’t too comfortable so the nurse swaddled him up and that calmed him right down, so we’re keeping that tip for when he comes home. Other than that, he was very awake and wiggly, and frankly, a little pissed that his feeding was late.
Also, they did another x-ray and his chest looks a little less cloudy. So the current theory is that the feeding/breathing balance got a little out of whack and Jack wound up with fluid in his lungs from having his feedings increased too quickly. They’ve backed off of the feeding, pending the pneumonia culture and they’re going to concentrate on the lungs.
The camera is awesome. Jack is (clearly) awesome. That hair is … Wait, what? Where did that hair come from!?!?!?!?? I mean, it’s clearly Sarah hair, but I didn’t realize it was there before! Less cloudy chest is very good… keep working! Oh, Jack, I can’t wait to meet you in person! Go Jack, Go! Love, Elsa.

How relieved you must be. I hope you are both going to get a bit of rest tonight, and I hope that your Jack will as well.

Wiggles! I love me the wiggles! Jack looks lovely and big and sweet and all those good things. So happy to hear that you weren’t banned from the hospital, Arch, and that Jack is stable and wiggly. Love you guys!
