Bulking up.

The boy is putting on the pounds! We just got off the phone with his nurse for the evening, and word around the isoletes is that Jack has gone up to 1120 grams. There is one caveat. He had a central line inserted today, and that may account for a small amount of the gain. But more likely reason is that he has started tolerating breastmilk! Personally, I haven’t had any in like 12,856 days, but I hear that its huge with the newborn set.

1cc per feeding x 8 feedings a day = big time growth.

So milk does do a body good. I’m sure thats a relief to Sarah, or at least to her sore nipples.

I know that you people need more pictures of the boy, and tomorrow I’m hoping to snap a few. Thing is, I’ve been ogling this new digital camera. Its due to be in stores soon, and so I’ve been holding out. But I understand that I’m only as funny Jack is only as cute as his last set of pics, so tomorrow you’ll get the fix that you so clearly need.

Glad to hear the man in diapers keep adding weighr on in his daily regimen of kicking the ass of the NICU.

Say, what is a central line?

Nice camera. I wonder if I can break mine quick enough to get one.

  3. [...] Well the camera I’ve been lusting after arrived yesterday by personal “Grandpa Ray” messenger. Its pretty cool. I was over at the hospital after work today ’cause I found out that if I wear a mask and gloves then I can get in to the NICU. So I’ve got a few pics for you all. [...]
