I mentioned last night the generosity of our friends the Lindbergs, but now I can show you all just how generous they have been. In addition to having a huge Fresh Direct delivery show up shortly after our arrival, they left us with this view from their balcony.
It is amazing how calming it is to stare out the window at the skyline, with the soft hum of the breast pump in the background.
Next up is Lucy and Michael. From home made Penne a la Vodka, to answering all of our questions about actually having a baby (see, we didn’t get to do any of the realbirth classes we signed up for). And for non-stop, unflappable, best-friend support, I say thank you both. Although, I suspect we are going to be pestering you all the time and eventually, you’ll tell us to piss off.
Amanda who, at some point over the last two weeks has put me, my father Ray and my mother-in-law Hope, up in her apartment. Without her we would be lost. She has been a great friend to both Sarah and me, keeping us calm though some of the scariest moments of the last few weeks.
Victoria, has been our go-to-girl, since the beginning of time. About 15 seconds before we realize we need a helping hand, Vic seems to magically show up! How does she do that?
Hope, Hope, Hope! Like the name says… Hope has been here at the drop of a hat. Up from Philly in a flash, she empties the dishwasher and encourages Sarah to stick with the pumping. She is really the best mother-in-law that I’ve ever had.
There are countless others that have helped along the way Jon, Katherine, my Mom and Peter, the Puskars, the Mechners, Mr and Mrs. Frantz, the Kremers, the Huxleys, and Sue, just to name a few. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
And finally, my Dad. Last Friday he left his house in Connecticut to go on a business trip to San Diego. He was there for about 2 hours when I called him, and he turned around and came right back. I can only hope that I’ll be that kind of dad for Jack. Thanks Dad.
Aww, shucks! I think you guys have already surpassed us in knowledge but we can keep the meals coming. Love you guys (especially Jack “The Hammer” Smart). Pester away!

[...] Jack is stable today, although he’s once again under the french fry warmer. Sarah was with him the afternoon and Grandpa Ray came in to visit before his second attempt at going to San Diego. Today there isn’t really much new to say so, I’ll just make with the pics. [...]
[...] For those of you just tuning in – we started demolition August 13th, I went into the hospital August 14th, Jack was born on August 27th and we spent a month at the lovely Lindberg’s and then moved into our mostly finished apartment on October 1st. The only thing left to do when we moved back in was the kitchen floors. Until the kitchen is complete, we can not unpack the living room and all of our crap from the living room currently resides in Jack’s room. Yes, the logic escapes me too, but it made sense when we planned it. [...]
