Sunday, August 27th, 2006 Jack Kaden arrived. 27 weeks old and 2 pounds and 4 ounces. Breathing on his own and rocking out in his underpants.
I realize that he doesn’t look so hot right now, but he is actually doing very well for being substantially undercooked. He has an IV and a feeding tube in his belly button, as well as an oxygen tube to help him keep his lungs inflated.
He wiggles around a lot, which they tell us is a good sign.
Wow! This is great news and the picture of Jack is fantastic. When does mom get her first adult beverage? We’re all pulling for Jack to get home ASAP.

Dear Jack,
Welcome to America!!! Understand you got here a bit early. S’okay, you are in good hands. I look forward to meeting you and someday telling you about the crazy stunts your father has pulled. We know your mother never did anything wrong and is of course a saint. Be good to your parents and keep on the growing track they like that. Tell your dad I said it’s okay to buy you a car. Something small and unobtrusive like Mega-Tahoe or something.
Seriously though!!! Wow! He looks liek a trooper. I disagree with Kath’s estimationg as he doesn’t have Archie’s moss like facial hair. I bet that will kick in around 4. Months.
We’re praying and pulling for you guys. Be well and keep giving that boy all the ove he needs!
With love,
Charles, Alice and Sophia. In Maine. A great place to raise a child. Hint hint.
[...] Herb has been keeping tabs on Jack since he first showed up in August. It’s pretty amazing to think that Jack has not one, but two great grandfathers and it was pretty damn cool to be able to introduce Herb to Jack yesterday. [...]
